From swim trunks and sandals to tees and board shorts, men’s beach outfits are made to be seen—so they better be stylish. To help you find the perfect men’s beach outfit, we’ve compiled our favorite ten men’s beach outfits below, complete with links to buy or learn more about them so you can plan your next trip to the shore!

1) Vibrant Colored Swim Trunks

If you’re looking to grab attention, vibrant-colored swim trunks are a great way to do it. Whether it’s an orange or red with black contrast trim, men’s swim trunks in fun colors are fashionable and look great at any beach wedding. And when you opt for a bold color like blue or green, they also make it easy to spot in a crowd of people hanging out at a sandy beach on a hot summer day.

Men’s beach wedding outfits that come in bright colors offer more than just style—they also show confidence and spirit. This will be reflected positively by those around you at your next tropical getaway, regardless of whether it’s your first trip to such a location or not.

2) Board Shorts

As your man will most likely be wearing swim trunks or shorts to a beach wedding, he’ll want to make sure they fit him well. The first rule of thumb is fit—obviously, no one wants baggy swim trunks/shorts. A good pair of men’s shorts need to fall somewhere between fitted and loose. Look for something that hugs his hips and thighs but doesn’t leave any excess fabric in those areas.

3) Denim Shorts

You’re likely to hear me say at some point that I prefer denim shorts to every other beach outfit for men—and if you like a man in shorts, I think you’ll agree. It’s not just that men in shorts are cute; it’s also because they look great with nearly any style of shirt (think about how many amazing outfits Rihanna pulls off) and provide ample opportunities to see their entire leg. If you’re starting from scratch, though,

I recommend Topman or Zara—they both make great quality budget-friendly shorts that will last a long time. But remember: good denim means more than just finding something inexpensive. Look closely at its texture; smooth and soft is better than stiff and rigid—which can create lines around your legs as you walk.

4) Casual Shoes

Men’s shoes come in many styles, but most of them are intended to be worn on land. That doesn’t mean that a man can’t wear shoes to a beach wedding—he just needs to stick with footwear that is comfortable and functional. Dockers have some good options in men’s boat shoes; these slip-on, lace-up shoes look great when paired with khakis or shorts and can be easily worn on both dry land and wet sand. For something more formal (like a morning wedding), men can opt for flat dress socks and darker-colored boat shoes so they won’t stand out as much.

5) Lightweight Jackets

No matter where you’re traveling, it’s a good idea to have a lightweight jacket in your luggage. Whether or not there will be outlets on-site to charge electronics is something you’ll want to consider before packing. Some jackets come with integrated USB ports and other charging options, so keep those things in mind when picking out your new windbreaker.

Men’s jackets are very practical and versatile; you can use them as anything from a poncho on a rainy day to something cozy to keep you warm while curled up by a fire. Jackets make a great gift because they’re useful no matter what time of year it is!

6) Sunglasses

The best sunglasses offer UV protection and look good. To find a pair that’s right for you, go to your local optometrist or eye doctor. They can tell you what styles work best with your face shape and provide you with information on how to keep your shades in great condition. And if they don’t have frames that fit your face, they can probably recommend a shop that does.

7) Hair Ties

When you don’t have time to fiddle with your hair, elastic bands are a great way to keep hair off your face. They also help keep curls in place when you’re going with beachy waves look like these photos. And if they get wet, they won’t damage your locks like other products will. (See pictures of Brad Pitt and Michael Jordan wearing them.) Plus, if you lose one, it won’t break the bank to replace it.

8) Skin Protectant

Sunscreen, as mentioned above, is a must. Whether you’re at a wedding or spending time on an island beach, you’ll want to protect your skin from harmful rays. Skin cancer and wrinkles are no joke. Protect yourself from both by always wearing sunscreen that offers full UVA/UVB protection. After swimming or sweating, reapply every two hours. Note: It’s best to use one with a broad spectrum on its label – that means it protects against both types of UV radiation: UVA (which is linked to skin cancer) and UVB (which causes sunburn).

9) Regular T-Shirts

These are a staple in any man’s wardrobe, and they make an appearance at every beach wedding. Men can wear either short or long-sleeved T-shirts to a beach wedding, as long as they’re not too loose. But even if it’s a warm day, you should probably skip sleeveless shirts. Why? For one thing, there’s something about sand that makes men want to scratch their armpits. (We don’t recommend wearing tank tops unless you want to give your date a show.)

10) Flip-Flops

This is a timeless look that you can wear to many different kinds of events. We suggest wearing a collared shirt, which will make your outfit look more formal and dressy. Just remember to tuck it in! Flip-flops are a little more casual and less formal than sandals. The key is comfort – if you’re not comfortable, then don’t wear them! #9 – Swim Trunks: Sometimes referred to as swimsuits, swim trunks are just like regular shorts but they have short legs that stop just above your knees. They are made out of swimsuit fabric but have pockets on both sides.

Beach clothing is a fun way to show off your personality and fashion sense. While basic swim trunks have always been around, there are plenty of other cool beach outfits for men that can help you add a bit of flair to your look. Whether you’re out on a cruise, hanging at home, or taking a trip down south, these beach clothes will ensure that you stand out from all of your friends who wear boring shorts and shirts! Now go pick out something fun!
